Mark Twain Buying a home in Winnipeg has never made more sense and that’s the simple truth as the market continues its steady climb past all previous records. The Judy Lindsay Team believes that the end of the climb is not in sight and most experts agree as the Canadian economy continues to grow. According to The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) the national average price for a home across Canada in April of 2008 was $317,619.00 (Canadian Dollars) compared to $305,499.00 in April of 2007 (this represents an increase of roughly 4 percent). Meanwhile in Manitoba the average price for a home was $201,906.00 in April of 2008 compared to $171,130.00 in April of 2007, a dramatic increase of more than 18 percent. (Source: http://www.crea.ca/public/news_stats/statistics.htm). And in 2007 the Winnipeg housing market simply exploded:
